According to Gourmet Magazine, this is one of the best-looking restaurants in the city.  This is a re-imagining nineteenth-century Southeast-Asian trading house; bamboo, burlap, and colorful braided ropes are the backdrop for a whimsical and original design vision.  Downstairs you will dine under dozens of antique Chinese birdcages and pierced tin “lizard” Lights.  A wall mounted with twelve elaborately crowned wood animal heads representing the Asian zodiac will mesmerize your guests. The upper level exudes a British colonial air, and decorated with botanical prints and such artistic touches, as tall Asian umbrellas clustered together like an exotic bouquet.

America's oldest Italian restaurant has proudly served the citizens of and visitors to San Francisco since 1886. The Grand Café

As one would expect from a San Francisco Restaurant, The Grand Café is an art deco explosion, with trompe l’oeil murals, columns, floor-to-ceiling sculptures and a vaulted ceiling. 

A French-California brasserie set in an architecturally restored, turn-of-the-century ballroom. The café is abundant with touches of art nouveau and deco, and an exciting collection of newly commissioned art. Original murals, fanciful sculpture, decorative art, and faux finishes are the result of collaboration with a variety of local artists.

Kuleto's

A local favorite right off Union Square, Kuleto's is a combination of old San Francisco aura, Italian conviviality, and contemporary vitality. Kuleto's surrounds you in Italian marble, dark wood, and warm lighting. It's historical 40-foot-long, century-old Brunswick bar made in England survived the 1906 earthquake while installed at the Palace Hotel.  Kuleto’s offers distinctive California-Italian cuisine featuring fresh and seasonal ingredients.  Menu highlights include house-made pastas, traditional Italian Salads, fresh fish and flavorful meats grilled over mesquite.  All baked goods, pastries and desserts are prepared daily in-house.

Le Colonial

The atmosphere at Le Colonial evokes the tropical elegance of Vietnam (a French colony at the time) in the 1920s. From the patchwork tile floors to the graceful palm trees and rattan and shuttered windows, Le Colonial feels as if it was transported here from 75 years ago and 10,000 miles away. Vintage black and white photographs of life in Saigon at the turn of the century adorn the walls, while ceiling fans gently stir the air.  Contemporary French Vietnamese cuisine drawing form traditional recipes blended with the bounty of fresh meat, fish and produce the Bay Area has to offer.
